ASSEMBLY 2026

The TWK Conference of the United Women in Faith held their annual Mission u June 25-27 at historic Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, TN. About 70 adults, youth, and children attended the moving event entitled, “Experiencing Emmanuel.” The study allowed us to encounter “God with us” in powerful, personal, and transformative ways.
We were blessed to have Rev. Linda Furtado, the author of the eight-session curriculum as one of our study leaders, along with Janet Pierce, and Holly Neal. Pastors Rev. Josh Newberry and Rev. Dr. Jefferson Furtado led the music as well as worship. Delores Smith served as Dean of Mission u; LaSonia Scantling and TaHandshea Scantling served as children’s leaders; and Caroline Martin and Margaret Fisher served as youth leaders.
Music, fellowship, crafts, prayer, games, and wonderful food rounded out the event which ended with the group enjoying Communion and singing Let There Be Peace On Earth while holding hands.
